The mission of Magic Valley School of Performing Arts is Redeeming the Arts to the Glory of God. Our goal is to provide quality instruction in all areas of the performing arts within a loving, nurturing, God-glorifying environment. We want our students and the community to recognize that the arts can be much more than just entertainment, and to challenge them to use their gifts to bless others.

We offer a variety of dance instruction, instrument and voice instruction, and theater training from qualified Christian instructors. Choose a department link to find out more information.

Corrine Benavides

School Director

I have been involved in the arts almost all of my life, from pursuing my own talents in choir, theater, and visual arts, to observing others showcase their talents. Through my younger years, high school, and college years, the arts are something that I have always found time for. I moved to Twin Falls, Idaho with my husband Johnny in 2014. He and I have been married for 11 years and our little family includes our cocker spaniel Liya.

Being on MSVPA board for the last year and half has been such a great opportunity, but there was an underlying passion to see our program built and supported more. There is much potential and I am excited to impact and support that. What is most important to me is helping the kids of Magic Valley to find their talents and give them venues in which they can grow those talents. I have a passion for kids and for giving them opportunities to give glory to God and growing the talents that He as given them.

“Father show us the gifts and talents your have given us . Let us learn to use them for your glory” ~ 1 Peter 4:10

Melissa Kunkel

I was born, raised, home-school and work on a cattle ranch 28 miles south of Twin Falls. I started playing piano when I was 9 years old and realized my God-given talent. I love playing, and have been for 13 years, including Festival, Sonatina and Music Camp at CSI. I am currently on the music team at Magic Valley Bible Church, where being a teacher at Awanas and VBS made me realize how much I love children and teaching.

I study college-level piano privately with my wonderful teacher Janie Griff. My passion is to teach students to feel the music and to become a part of the music.
